1. Who runs this site
lpg.africa is operated by LPG Africa (Pty) Ltd, trading as LPG Sense. Our full company details are on the legal index. If you buy something, the terms of sale apply as well as these terms; where the two overlap, the terms of sale govern the purchase.
2. Using the site
You are welcome here. Please do not do the things that make the internet worse:
- Do not try to break in, probe for vulnerabilities, bypass access controls, or read data that is not yours — including other people’s order pages.
- Do not scrape, crawl or hammer the site in a way that degrades it for anyone else, and do not submit orders or forms automatically.
- Do not upload or send anything unlawful, malicious or deliberately misleading, and do not impersonate us or anyone else.
- Do not use the site to market anything to us or to our customers.
We may restrict access if someone is doing any of that. Automated abuse of the order form is rate-limited.
Security researchers are welcome. If you find something, email info@lpg.africa and give us a reasonable chance to fix it before telling the world. We will not come after you for a good-faith report.
3. Who owns what is on it
The LPG Sense name and logo, the LPG Sense sensor design and firmware, the app, and the text, images, illustrations, layout and code of this site belong to us or to the people who licensed them to us. Some third-party components are used under their own open-source licences.
You may read, print, save and share pages of this site for your own non-commercial purposes, including quoting us with a link. You may not copy the site’s design or content to run a competing shop, use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you, or use the content to train a commercial model without asking us. Ask at info@lpg.africa — the answer is often yes.
4. The information on this site
We take real care to keep this site accurate, and we would rather under-promise than over-promise. Even so, specifications improve, prices change and mistakes happen. Where an obvious error appears, we correct it and tell anyone who saw it.
The product information here is a description, not a substitute for the instructions supplied with the sensor. Anything the site says about accuracy, battery life, range or cylinder compatibility is a genuine estimate under the conditions described and not a guarantee for every situation. Please read safety & intended use — it sets out plainly what the sensor does not do.
5. Links out
We link to a few external places: the ombud, the regulators, the courier. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content, but we do check that the links still work and the details are current. If you find one that has gone stale, please tell us.
6. The LPG Sense app
The companion app is free and is licensed to you rather than sold — you may use it on your own devices for their normal purpose, and you may not decompile it, resell it, or use it to interfere with anyone else’s sensor. The app has its own terms and privacy notice where the app store requires them. Our privacy policy covers this website and the emails you send us.
We will keep the app working with sensors we have sold for as long as is reasonable, and we will give fair notice before withdrawing anything the sensor needs in order to function. A sensor that stops being usable because we withdrew something it depended on is a quality matter under the Consumer Protection Act, not a loophole — see returns & warranty.
7. Availability
We aim to keep the site up, but we do not promise uninterrupted access — hosting, networks and deploys occasionally intervene. This does not affect any order you have already placed, or any right you have under it.
8. Our responsibility
We are responsible for the content of this site, for the security of the payment path, and for every aspect of any order you place through it. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, and nothing in them limits our liability for harm caused by unsafe goods or inadequate warnings. Where anything written here conflicts with those Acts, those Acts win.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. The version on this page is the current one and the date at the top tells you when it last changed. A change here never applies backwards to an order already placed — that is governed by the terms of sale as they stood when you ordered.
10. Governing law
These terms and this website are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes can go to the ombud, the regulator or a South African court — see complaints & disputes.
