Who you are buying from
South African law requires an online shop to tell you exactly who is behind it before you buy — its registered name and legal status, its registration number, its directors, where it is registered, a physical address, an address for legal service of documents and a telephone number. Here are ours.

- Email: support@lpg.africa for orders, delivery, returns and support; info@lpg.africa for everything else, including privacy and access-to-information requests.
What we sell
We are a consumer electronics business and we sell one product: the LPG Sense sensor, a battery-powered sensor that magnets to the base of a steel LPG cylinder and reads the gas level through the steel. A free companion app shows the level as a percentage, in kilograms, and as an estimate of the days of gas you have left. We do not sell gas, cylinders, regulators or any hazardous or regulated goods.
The sensor is R599. Delivery anywhere in South Africa is a flat R89 by Aramex courier, so one sensor delivered to your door is R688 in total. There are no handling fees, card fees or other charges. All prices are in South African rand (ZAR), and we sell and deliver in South Africa only.
Orders are not open yet. There is nothing to pay and nothing to reserve on this site today, and we ask for no card details anywhere. Every policy below is published in advance and applies in full from the day we open.
Our policies
- Terms of sale — The terms that apply when you buy an LPG Sense sensor, and who you are buying from.
- Refund policy — When you get your money back, how much, how it reaches you and how long it takes.
- Cancellation policy — Cancelling before dispatch, after dispatch, and your 7-day cooling-off right.
- Returns & warranty — Your statutory return rights, our 30-day change-of-mind window and the 2-year warranty.
- Delivery policy — Flat-rate Aramex delivery in South Africa, how long it takes and who carries the risk.
- Safety & intended use — What the sensor does, what it is not, and how to fit and dispose of it safely.
- Privacy policy — What personal information we collect, why, who else sees it and your POPIA rights.
- Cookie notice — The handful of things this site stores in your browser. No advertising, no tracking.
- Complaints & disputes — How to complain, how long we take, and the free ombud route if we let you down.
- Website terms of use — The rules for using lpg.africa itself, and who owns what is on it.
- PAIA manual — The records we hold and how to request access to them under PAIA.
Your rights in short
Two Acts do most of the work here, and both of them override anything we write. The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 governs buying online: section 44 gives you 7 days from receiving the sensor to cancel for any reason or none, and section 48 makes any term that tries to take a Chapter VII right away null and void. The Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 governs quality: section 56 gives you 6 months in which a faulty sensor goes back at our cost and you choose a repair, a replacement or a refund.
Nothing on this site limits either of those. Where our own promises are more generous — our 30-day change-of-mind window and our 2-year warranty — they sit on top of your statutory rights, and never in place of them.
If something goes wrong
Email support@lpg.africa first. We aim to acknowledge within 2 business days and to resolve within 15 business days. If we do not put it right, you can take it free of charge to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud on 0860 000 272, or complain to the National Consumer Commission — the full escalation path is on our complaints page.
Keeping a copy
Every page here is plain HTML at a permanent address. You can read it whenever you like, print it, or save it as a PDF from your browser, and we will email you a copy of any of it on request. The version of these terms in force on the day you order is the version that applies to your order.
