Does it work on any cylinder?

Yes — LPG Sense fits any standard steel LPG cooking or braai cylinder from 5 kg to 48 kg. The sensor magnets to the flat base; there is nothing to drill, screw or plumb.

How accurate is the reading?

The sensor reads the gas level straight through the steel wall and reports a percentage and an approximate weight in kilograms. It is designed to be accurate enough to plan refills with confidence — you will always know when you are running low.

How does it connect to my phone?

Accepted Answer

Over Bluetooth, at roughly 10 metres. Open the LPG Sense app when you are near the cylinder and it syncs your latest reading. An always-on WiFi bridge is on the roadmap for monitoring without your phone nearby.

How long does the battery last?

Up to 18 months on the built-in battery. The app lets you know in good time before it needs attention.

Is it safe and weatherproof?

The sensor is non-invasive — it never touches the gas — and is rated IP55, so it is happy outdoors next to a braai or under a covered cylinder.
