These terms cover the LPG Sense mobile app for iOS and Android. Buying the sensor is covered separately by our terms of sale, and what we do with your information is set out in our privacy policy.
The app is provided by LPG Africa (Pty) Ltd, trading as LPG Sense (registration number 2026/573057/07). By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
What the app does
The app reads a LPG Sense sensor over Bluetooth and shows you an estimate of how much gas is left in the cylinder it is fitted to, in percent and kilograms, together with usage history and an estimate of how long that gas is likely to last at your recent rate of use.
What the app is not
It is not a gas leak detector, a gas alarm or a safety device. It cannot detect a leak and must never be relied on for safety. Fit a separate, purpose-built LPG leak detector for that. See our safety and product limits page.
Every figure the app shows is an estimate, not a certified measurement. It depends on the cylinder, how the sensor is fitted, temperature and the calibration you gave it. Do not rely on it where running out of gas would cause loss or harm, and do not use it for custody transfer, billing or any other measurement of record.
Your account
You sign in with your mobile number. Keep access to that number secure: anyone who can receive its verification codes can reach your account. You may delete your account and everything in it at any time from Settings → Delete account, or by following deleting your account.
Use the app only for its intended purpose and only in ways that are lawful. Do not attempt to interfere with it, with our systems, or with anyone else’s account or sensor.
Availability and changes
The app is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available or uninterrupted: it depends on your phone, its Bluetooth radio, your internet connection and services we do not control. We may change or discontinue features, and we may require you to update to a supported version.
The app is free. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 in respect of the sensor you bought, which are set out in our terms of sale, returns policy and refund policy.
